News flash, Halloween is right around the corner. One could spend days aggregating a list of must attend Halloween and Fall fun activities, but what’s the point when it’s already been done? Twincities.com put together a lengthy list of Halloween events and activities to keep you busy through the Halloween season. Sure, it might not have that obscure local craft brewer pumpkin spice beer and food pairing dinner you’ve been counting down the days to, but the list is pretty darn exhaustive.

screen-shot-2016-10-25-at-9-44-37-am

The 2016 Formula 1 Championship is down to the last three rounds and there’s no doubt that Lewis Hamilton will continue to turn the heat up challenging Rosberg for the driver’s title. While the race will inevitably see Mercedes cars at the front, last week’s race at COTA proved that some of the best racing takes place mid-pack. Join us at Morrie’s Luxury Auto this Sunday to watch the Mexican Grand Prix beginning at 1:30pm.

Mythbusters may have been cancelled after an impressive 15-season run, however there’s still opportunity to get your science fix on. Now through January 15th Mythbusters: The Explosive Exposition will be calling the Mall of America home. Curious if you can really huff and puff and blow a house down? Gridiron Glory: The Best of the Pro Football Hall of Fame – Now through January 15th

Gridiron glory

Just because Adam’s out of town doesn’t mean we can promote some sports ball activities. Now through the end of the year Gridiron Glory is on display at the Minnesota History Center. It’s your opportunity to see the Lombardi trophy, Jerry Rice’s career touchdown reception record football and a bunch of other stinky old jerseys. Kidding aside, there are also a number of neat interactive activities, learning labs and a section specific to the Vikings.

A Beautiful Planet at the Omnitheater – Now through November 4th

Beautiful Planet

Normally the only videos I have the attention span for is those with old race car footage, so it surely says something when a non-car related video catches my attention. According to the Science Museum of Minnesota, A Beautiful Planet is a breathtaking view from space, providing a unique perspective and increased understanding of our planet and galaxy as never seen before. And when you’re done check out Mindbender Mansion at the Science Museum. Some say it’s as challenging as rebuilding a weber carburetor.

ET with MN Orchestra – Saturday, October 28th and Sunday, October 29th

ETIf you’re like me it’s probably been many years since you last saw ET and with Halloween looming right around the corner it seems like the perfect time to watch it again. And you can do just that this weekend when the MN Orchestra screens the movie backed by a full orchestra performing John Williams’ unforgettable original score live. Extra points if you spot the E30 BMWs, first generation GTIs and other iconic 80’s cars that play supporting roles. Who can’t forget the Audi 5000 that Elliot’s mom drove?

Twin Cities Film Festival – now through Saturday, October 29th

TCFF

Now through Saturday the red carpet will be rolled out in St. Louis Park for the Twin Cities Film Fest, (TCFF) which celebrates exceptional independent films. The fest features many critically acclaimed independent films as well as several Minnesota and Midwest premieres. With limited decent weather days ahead I wouldn’t normally advocate sitting inside all day, but the TCFF gives you good reason to so do. Oh and nothing complements a trip to see that big movie premiere better than a classic Lincoln Convertible.
