Now unless you’re a camera nerd like me, you likely won’t have any idea what Phase One is or know what’s so special about their XF IQ3 cameras. But look at it this way – you could either buy a really nice, certified pre-owned Maserati Ghibli or a camera. That might sound crazy but depending on your needs, the camera might actually make sense. So, what is the Phase One XF IQ3 and what makes it cost more than your average car? Well, Phase One is a small camera company building some of the best high-end camera systems in the world for commercial photographers. Their camera systems are broken down into three main parts: a body (in this case, I was using the latest XF body), a lens (I tried out an assortment of their Schneider Kreuznach leaf shutter lenses), and a digital back (the IQ3 is their latest generation of backs which are available from 50 megapixels up to 100 megapixels). Altogether, the XF camera with the top-of-the-line 100MP IQ3 back, and a single lens from Phase One rings in a grand total of $48,990!
Super Bowl 51 – Sunday, Feb. 5th
We’ve been told that the ‘Super Bowl’ is this weekend, which is apparently some sort of gladiatorial combat involving a leather ball, birds of prey from Georgia, and several East Coast patriots. While we’re not sure what to make of that, it has also come to our attention that there will be some fantastic commercials during breaks on the ‘iron grid’, in addition to a halftime performance by the inscrutable Lady Gaga. With that being said, if football isn’t your cup of tea we have a few other events on our radar that might tickle your fancy:
My dad lives in Florida, but he flies up to the Midwest every holiday. He rents a car once he gets here and it’s always a base model, economy car. This Thanksgiving, a Bentley Flying Spur just happened to have a lack of weekend plans, so we told him this holiday he would be very thankful for his rental car. Because what better way to impress your family than driving a Bentley all around Minneapolis on Thanksgiving weekend? More >
Morrie’s Luxury Auto spent two full days in beautiful Las Vegas for the 2016 SEMA show. If you’re unfamiliar with SEMA it’s, “”the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world. It draws the industry’s brightest minds and hottest products to one place, the Las Vegas Convention Center.” So after we walked the show for a few days we realized just how difficult it is to explain to someone who has never heard of such an event. With everything from monster trucks to mini bikes, the show never ceases to amaze. You could spend a year trying to see everything when it reality the show only runs for less than a week! Nevertheless, we picked out a few of our favorite vehicles from the show to share with everyone.
Halloween and Fall Fun Events – Ongoing
News flash, Halloween is right around the corner. One could spend days aggregating a list of must attend Halloween and Fall fun activities, but what’s the point when it’s already been done? Twincities.com put together a lengthy list of Halloween events and activities to keep you busy through the Halloween season. Sure, it might not have that obscure local craft brewer pumpkin spice beer and food pairing dinner you’ve been counting down the days to, but the list is pretty darn exhaustive.

We hope to see you all there! We’ll be featuring the artwork of Paul Peterson during the race who will be bringing some special Formula 1 artwork to showcase.
Last week we were fortunate enough to have the beautiful, all-new Aston Martin DB11 on our show floor for just a brief 24 hours. We invited a handful of our valuable Aston Martin customers to our store for a chance to see the future of the brand up close and personal. A few lucky people even had the opportunity to test drive one of only a handful of DB11s in the country. We can’t wait to start delivering the first DB11s to customers in the coming months.
We pride ourselves on offering great test drives to all of our customers and potential customers. While our usual test drive routes include a mix of city street and highway driving to give people a feel for how a vehicle might behave on a daily basis, exceptional vehicles call for exceptional test drives. And that’s precisely why we booked a day at Brainerd International Raceway: to give our customers and friends a chance to drive their own cars, as well as a hand-picked selection of our latest and vehicles flat-out on a race track. This time, we managed to bring the all-new Aston Martin DB11 up to the track, along with a pair of new Bentley Bentaygas – one to drive on the track, and another for the off-road course we had set up!
Despite chilly weather keeping temperatures in the low-40s, spirits were running high. After a great day of driving and being able to stretch the legs on a wide range of performance cars ranging from McLarens and Maseratis to Porsches and Lamborghinis, we were happy to see everyone leave the track with smiles on their faces. Stay tuned for more information about more track days like this next year and don’t forget to check out our photo gallery below.
During our recent track day Bentley was gracious enough to lend two well appointed Bentayga’s for the event. Even though they knew what we had planned for the day, they were gracious enough to send them out for us to use. While planning the track day we asked the staff at Brainerd International Raceway if they could construct an off-road course. They enthusiastically organized something special for our guests that wasn’t nothing short of amazing. The course they designed for us really had a good mix of elements to test the Bentayga and the optional All-Terrain specifications. The course started on a long hard packed dirt road, common in the north woods, while it didn’t challenge the Bentayga it was representative of what most people will encounter in Minnesota.
Further down the road we found deep sand which really showed off the ability of the terrain management’s sand mode, allowing us to dig through the ever changing conditions as the day went on. To show off how special the Bentley’s W12 engine was, we had two choices when it came to the inclines. One was a slow speed hard packed uneven terrain requiring a massive amount of torque. The other was a steep, loose sand trail requiring the speed that the 600 horsepower allows you to put to the ground. After taking customers around our course we had one more surprise for our passengers. We thought after showing the off road prowess we might as well show what this 5,400lb SUV could do from a dead stop to 60mph. Spoiler Alert: It’s 4 seconds flat
Monster Jam MPLS – Saturday – December 10th
I’ve been told I’m not allowed to swear in the newsletter, but this is the
bleeping Monster Jam COMING BACK TO MINNESOTA!! “KIDS SEATS ARE STILL JUST $5!!” which might not be the case anymore, but “YOU CAN PAY FOR THE ENTIRE SEAT, BUT YOU’LL ONLY NEED THE EDGE” stays this time around. From what we’ve seen tickets start around $40 and go up to well over a hundred. We want to make sure to tell you about this one well in advance because you should be as excited as we are. Is Bigfoot still a thing?!?
